Apple cider vinegar is an established home remedy for a variety of conditions from warts on the chin to fungus on the feet. Soaking affected toes in apple cider vinegar is an effective toenail fungus remedy. In order for the treatment to be most effective, file down the nail until it is at its thinnest, this allows for easier penetration to the infection below. Mix apple cider vinegar with some warm water and soak the toe for 20 minutes at a time and repeat multiple times a day. A more extreme approach is to use bleach (hydrogen peroxide) in water in the same way. Bleach can be extremely destructive to skin however and is not recommended for everyone. Between vinegar baths, keep the toe dry and treat with tea tree oil. Garlic and lemon juice can also be used as antiseptic toenail fungus remedies and can be used in more concentrated forms directly on the affected area. Be careful when using herbal toenail fungus remedies and always consult a medical professional if symptoms persist or intensify.
